Kitimat, BC — February 21, 2026 — The Kitimat Fire Department claimed decisive bragging rights Saturday night with a 7–3 win over the Kitimat RCMP Detachment in the annual Showdown in Snowtown Classic, delighting a packed crowd and raising funds for Kitimat Fire Ladder of Hope Charity. The amount raised this year was $25000!
After a tight first two periods, the firefighters pulled ahead with four unanswered goals in the third, never looking back to seal the victory. Both teams delivered a fast, physical, and good-natured contest that showcased the camaraderie between Kitimat’s first responders.
Organizers extend thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, and the Kitimat community for another successful event.
“Enjoy the sleepover, Kitimat Fire Department,” the Kitimat RCMP Detachment quipped. “Because next year, the cups coming home.”
