Patrols lead to warrant execution and breach charges

While on routine patrols in the Kildala Neighbourhood at 3:06 am on March 26th, a Kitimat RCMP officer noticed a person walking through the neighbourhood that had an active warrant for arrest. The officer stopped and arrested the individual for their warrant. While searching the suspect incidental to arrest, the male was found to have several items, that they were on conditions of a release order not to. The person was lodged into the Kitimat RCMP cells for a bail hearing to face the charges of the warrant and the new breach of a release order charge. (206-923)

Minor injuries after single vehicle collision 

A report of a single vehicle collision near the Kitimat River Bridge along highway 37 was received by the Kitimat RCMP on March 27th at 12:51 pm. The investigating officer attended the scene and located a vehicle that had rolled on it’s side after crashing into the ditch. Two occupants were being assessed by emergency health services. Both persons were taken to a local hospital to have their injuries assessed and treated. (2026-942)

Internet fraud for an item and insurance

On March 28th at 12:45 pm, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of an internet fraud for services that were not rendered. It was reported that the victim had made a purchase online. After the purchase, they were offered the opportunity to purchase insurance for the shipping of their item. The victim received an email requesting an e-transfer for ‘refundable insurance’ in case the item is damaged during transport, which was sent. Unfortunately, the item did not arrive on the date it was expected and another e-mail requesting even more money for the delivery was received. The victim did not send any further money and reported the transaction to the Canadian Anti Fraud Centre and the Kitimat RCMP.  (2026-955)

Arrests made for causing a disturbance

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of two persons causing a disturbance on the 500 block of City Centre on March 30th at 11:55 am. The investigating members attended and located a male and female that were intoxicated. As a result, both were arrested for causing a disturbance by being drunk in public. They were both transported to the Kitimat RCMP detachment and lodged into cells. They were released later in the evening without charge. (2026-976)

Vehicle hit and run reported

On April 1st at 9:11 am, the Kitimat RCMP was advised of a hit and run to a vehicle that had been parked on the 900 block of Lahakas Blvd. It was stated that the vehicle owner had been parking in the lost for extended periods of time for the last few weeks. On March 31st, the noticed damages to the passenger side door of the vehicle. The exact date of the incident is unknown, however an odd noise from that door was noticed over the last few days. It is thought the hit and run occurred on Monday, March 30th. (2026-1000)
