Langley RCMP are providing an update to a previously reported shots fired incident that occurred in the early morning hours of June 12, 2026 in the 21500 block of 45A Avenue in Langley.
Since the initial release, investigators have continued to advance the investigation and gather evidence. It has now been confirmed that this incident is linked to on-going extortion-related activity in the region.
“Through continued investigative efforts, we have determined that this was a targeted, extortion-related shooting,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “Incidents like this are concerning, and we want to reassure the public that our investigators are actively working to identify those responsible and mitigate further risk to the community.”
Investigators remain engaged in canvassing for witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and analyzing evidence. While this incident has now been linked to extortion activity, the investigation remains ongoing.
Langley RCMP continue to ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has dash camera or CCTV footage from the surrounding neighbourhood between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on June 12, 2026, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2026-18231.
