Officers respond to marine incident at Port Haney Wharf

Maple Ridge RCMP is currently on scene responding to a marine incident.
On April 27, 2026, at approximately 10:35am, Maple Ridge RCMP responded to a report of a marine incident in the 22400 block of River Road near the Port Haney Wharf.
Frontline officers immediately attended the area and learned that an adult male may have fallen into the Fraser River at this location and did not resurface.
Officers searched the surrounding area and did not observe anyone in distress in the water or surfacing on the waterline.
Maple Ridge RCMP has deployed the detachment’s boat and is being assisted by BC RCMP Air Services, Maple Ridge Fire & Rescue Services, and BC Emergency Health Services. Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue has also been deployed to assist and the BC RCMP Underwater Recovery Team has been notified.
Investigators are also speaking with numerous individuals on scene to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The roadway towards Port Haney Wharf is closed off to the public as police and emergency services providers continue their investigation and search efforts. The public is asked to avoid the area at this time.
