Mission RCMP is investigating a fatal pedestrian incident

On January 10, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., Mission RCMP were called to a pedestrian motor vehicle incident on Lougheed Highway in Mission.
Police were called to the scene involving a single vehicle where a man was struck by a vehicle. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The BC RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been deployed and is assisting with the investigation. As a result, Lougheed Highway is currently closed between Grand Street and Wardrop Street while officers complete their work. The investigation is in progress to determine the exact cause of the incident. Officers have ruled out impairment with the driver.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Updates regarding road closures and traffic conditions are available through DriveBC.
