Nanaimo missing woman located: Sherry Shelley

Background:

On November 14, 2025, the Nanaimo RCMP received a report of a missing person, 65-year-old Sherry Shelley of Nanaimo.

In the early hours of November 14, 2025, the Nanaimo RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a wooded area on College Drive near the Highway 19 intersection, and unfortunately, located Ms. Shelley, deceased.


Update:

The Nanaimo Serious Crime Unit are investigating Ms. Shelley’s death as a homicide and have been working diligently to bring justice to the family.

The police are asking residents in the following areas to review dash-cam footage and any external home-surveillance video for Ms. Shelley's white Volkswagen Tiguan, license plate WN701L.

The Nanaimo RCMP is requesting that residents living along the possible driving routes described below, check their dash cameras and external surveillance cameras from 11 p.m. on November 13, 2025, to 3 am on November 14, 2025, for a vehicle matching Ms. Shelley’s vehicle and to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non emergency line at 250-754-2345, file #2025-36216

Possible driving routes:
# 1 From the Doumont area to College Drive via Parkway.
# 2 From the Doumont area to College Drive via Jinglepot rd.
# 3 From Harwood Road (in Lantzville), along Old Logging Road to Vipond Rd
