Police investigating theft of scooter and drone

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating two thefts; one involving an electric scooter and the other a drone. The incidents are unrelated and occurred on Saturday May 23, 2026. 

Theft of Electric Scooter and helmet – 100 Block Gordon Street
The electric scooter was secured by its owner around 8:40 AM near the staff entrance of the Marriott hotel. When the owner returned at 3:20 PM, the scooter and helmet were gone. The scooter is described as a black stand-up Evercross EV10Z, with a lime green helmet attached. No serial number is available. A photo of the scooter and helmet are attached

Theft of drone – 200 Block Hansen Road
On the same day, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle parked on the street in the 200 block of Hansen Road. The vehicle had been parked since approximately 8:30 PM the previous evening. Just before 6 AM, the owner discovered the rear passenger window had been smashed and his Anti Gravity drone, googles and battery pack gone.

The drone has since been remotely deactivated by the manufacturer. The serial number of the drone is 2137FDE1AL1BB533369B. A stock photo of the drone is attached.
