On Saturday May 23, 2026, Operation Hydration wrapped up with an incredible show of generosity from the Nanaimo community. By the end of the day, nearly 4,000 bottles of water had been purchased and donated, all destined to support Nanaimo’s unhoused population during the hot summer months.

The initiative, brought together employees of Real Canadian Superstore, Nanaimo RCMP officers, Community Policing Volunteers, and Community Safety Officers, highlighting the power of partnership and shared purpose.

Throughout the event, organizers were met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from members of the public who not only contributed generously but also expressed strong support for the initiative and its focus on care and prevention.

The success of Operation Hydration is a clear reflection of community spirit in Nanaimo—demonstrating that when people come together with compassion, meaningful impacts can be made for those who need it most.

Attached are some pictures from the day.
