Police seek witnesses to assault of jogger

The Nanaimo RCMP is seeking witnesses following an assault of a female jogger. The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 PM on June 9, 2026, on Second St near Pine St.

The woman, age 21, told police that while out for a run, an unknown male riding a bicycle approached her from behind and allegedly grabbed her buttocks. The suspect then rode off. 

The suspect is described as follows:

• Caucasian male
• Approximately 35 years old
• Approximately 6'3" (191 cm) tall
• Slim build
• Short brown hair, scruffy brown beard 
• Wearing a black hoodie with the hood up
• Wearing tight black/grey pants
• Wearing a black oval shaped backpack 
• Riding an older model possibly red mountain bike

Investigators have completed extensive inquiries, including canvassing for CCTV and speaking to residents in the area. To date, they have been unable to identify the suspect.
