A serious collision in Tsawwassen which has left a motorcycle rider with serious injuries is under investigation by BC Highway Patrol.
At approximately 11:13 a.m., Delta Police and BC Highway Patrol received a call regarding a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV that occurred on Highway 17 between Tsawwassen Drive and Salish Sea Drive.
The motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious, life-altering injuries. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and was not injured in the collision.
Factors that may have contributed to the collision are under investigation.
The investigation has resulted in a closure on Highway 17 at Tsawwassen Drive that is impacting traffic. Detours are currently in effect. Drivers, including those accessing the BC Ferries terminal in Tsawwassen, should expect delays in the area.
