The BC RCMP would like the public to be aware that non-emergency phone lines are experiencing temporary service issues at some RCMP detachments.

The cause of the issue is under investigation and work is underway to restore service.

Affected detachments experiencing service interruptions that are impacting the ability to pick up and transfer non-emergency calls include:

  • Duncan
  • Ladysmith
  • Nanaimo
  • North Vancouver
  • Pemberton
  • Port Alberni
  • Sechelt
  • Sidney North Saanich
  • Squamish
  • Whistler

Additional detachments may also be experiencing intermittent issues.

The BC RCMP would like to encourage the public to either wait until service is restored to report non-emergency incidents or go in-person to their local detachment. In some communities, certain types of crime can be reported online. Please do not call 9-1-1 with non-emergency incidents.

If your incident is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

The BC RCMP will advise when the issues have been resolved.
