Alleged kidnapping at 39 Days of July Festival - Witnesses sought

On June 30th at around 12:40 p.m. North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP officers were called to a report of a man grabbing onto kids at the 39 Days of July Festival located at the 100 block of Canada Ave in Duncan.

When police arrived on scene the man was quickly located and arrested.

"We are aware of the posts that have been circulating on social media and are hoping that the people posting, who have been a possible target of this man to please come contact us directly", says lead investigator Cst. Murphy.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police actively working to identify witnesses and any other possible victims and their guardians.
