The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP would like to commend a local resident for their honesty in turning in an envelope with an undisclosed amount of cash in Duncan BC.
On August 29, 2025, a Good Samaritan found an envelope with an undisclosed amount of cash and turned it into the RCMP detachment. There was no personal information on the envelope as to who owned the cash.
“We always encourage people to do the right thing, and it was enlightening to see this Samaritan’s integrity. This shows that there are people looking out for each other in this community,” says Cst. Tessa McDonald, Media Relations Officer North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.
The RCMP reminds the public that this found property is being held at the local detachment and efforts will be made to return it to their rightful owner.
If you believe this cash belongs to you, you will need to provide the amount, bill denominations, and approximately where it was found, to claim.
