North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are seeking witnesses and any available video footage following a stabbing that occurred in the early morning hours of November 22, 2025.

In the early morning hours of November 22, 2025, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP responded to reports of a disturbance involving several youths in the area of the Somenos Road roundabout near the Canco gas station.

A short time later, police received a second report of an injured individual near the nearby soccer fields. Frontline officers attended and located an adult male suffering from a single stab wound. Officers provided medical assistance until Emergency Health Services arrived and transported him to hospital. His injuries are considered non‑life‑threatening.

With assistance from Police Dog Services, officers recovered evidence to support the investigation. A canvass of the area for CCTV footage and a request to RTIC were completed; however, no additional investigative leads were identified.

RCMP officers responded rapidly and leveraged specialized teams, including Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services, to thoroughly investigate the incident. We’re now asking community members to assist by sharing any information or video that may help investigators.” Says Cst. Tessa McDonald, Media Relations Officer.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment at 250‑748‑5522.
