North Vancouver RCMP are seeking witnesses and video footage to assist in the investigation of a serious pedestrian collision.

On August 29, 2025, at approximately 3:54 p.m., police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck in the 700 block of Lynn Valley Road at the Highway 1 on-ramp. It is alleged that a white Ford Transit van, travelling southbound, struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian, a 16-year-old female who is not from North Vancouver, was transported to hospital in serious condition.

Our officers are working closely with partner agencies, including the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to establish the circumstances of this collision, said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. We also want the public to know that victim services are available to anyone impacted by this incident and can be reached at 604-969-7540.

The driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. The North Vancouver RCMP traffic unit and ICARS continue to investigate. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, but impairment is not believed to be a factor.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam or CCTV footage, and has not yet spoken with police, is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file #25-18242.
