Three Port Alberni men charged with sexual offences on minors

Multiple charges have been approved in court against three Port Alberni men accused of sexual offences on minors.
The Port Alberni RCMP's General Investigation Section (GIS) began an investigation in 2020. On January 7, 2025, charges were laid against Shaun Pater, Terrance Houbregs and Wayne Moore.
Shaun Pater was charged with 15 counts in relation to sexual offences on minors including trafficking of persons under the age of 18 years. Terrance Houbregs and Wayne Moore are charged with 6 counts involving sexual offences on minors.
All men are bound by several conditions which include the following:
- Not to have contact or communicate directly or indirectly, or be in the presence of anyone under the age of 16 years;
- No go to any public park or swimming area, community centre, theatre, where persons under the age of 16 years are known to be present;
- No to go to any daycare centre, school or playground.
Police want to remind the public that a sexual assault complaint can be made at anytime. If you are a victim of sexual assault please call us.
This matter is now before the courts, no further updates will be provided.
