Prince George RCMP investigate overnight shooting

Prince George RCMP is currently investigating a shooting that occurred overnight on the 600-block of Ahbau Street.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at a residence at that location. Frontline police officers attended the scene and confirmed there were no injured residents. The investigation lead to the partial closure of Ahbau Street which has now been re-opened to the public.  

“The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial findings indicated this was likely a targeted event and there is no increased risk to the general public. If anyone in the neighbourhood witnessed the event or saw something suspicious we ask that they please contact the Prince George RCMP to speak with police,” says Cst. Jenna Moore, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP

The investigation is currently with our Serious Crimes Unit, which is actively working to identify the outstanding suspect.
