Prince George RCMP have one person in custody after investigating a break and enter at a business on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
The call came in just before 10:00 a.m., from a security guard at the unoccupied commercial building on the 800-block of Fourth Avenue. The security company was unsure if a suspect had entered the location at the time of the report.
Multiple units were utilized to establish containment around the building as well as facilitate an interior search for the suspect, including a Police Dog Services team and a drone operator. The suspect was located by police in an enclosed compound behind the building. Though the suspect initially refused to comply with police officers’ instructions, he was arrested after a short struggle and held in custody until he could attend court.
“This is another example of the great police work that occurs in Prince George every day,” states Superintendent Darin Rappel, Officer in Charge of the Prince George RCMP. “In less than an hour from us arriving at the location, we had a person in custody on this matter. The timeliness of the security guard in alerting police to a developing situation was also a vital component to the success of this occurrence.”
This file remains under investigation.
