On September 25, 2025, at 1:43pm, the Quesnel RCMP attended a rural address on Highway 97 North in response to a suspected impaired driver who had made threats of harm to another male. When police attempted a traffic stop to arrest the male, he used his vehicle to ram several police cruisers which resulted in one officer sustaining minor injuries. Two police cruisers were also damaged during the incident. The male then fled and abandoned his vehicle on a rural property nearby. With the assistance of RCMP police resources from Prince George, which included Police Dog Services, the Emergency Response Team, and the RCMP Air Unit, the male was brought into custody. The male is being held for a bail hearing, and the following charges are being recommended to Crown Counsel: Assault Police Officer with a Weapon, Obstruction, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Drive while Prohibited, Impaired Driving, and Uttering Threats.
