School bus crashes into ditch

Police are investigating after a school bus with 16 students on board crashed into a ditch Monday afternoon.

On March 30, 2026 at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Quesnel RCMP received a call of a collision on Highway 26 just east of Sundown Road involving a school bus. The bus had driven into the ditch and rolled over on its side. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. There were 16 children on board along with the bus driver.

Three of the passengers were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The remaining children were either picked up at the scene by family or transferred to a new bus.

The investigation is still ongoing and causal factors are not yet known.
