BC RCMP notifies IIO BC of incident in Richmond

The BC RCMP has notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of an incident in Richmond where four individuals and a police officer were injured.

On July 7, 2025, at approximately 9:12 p.m., a Richmond RCMP officer was responding in his marked police vehicle with lights and siren activated to assist another police officer at a call when there was a collision with a truck in the intersection of Williams Road and No. 4 Road. As a result of the collision, the truck hit two pedestrians and one resident on a property in the area.

All five individuals, including the Richmond RCMP officer were transported to local hospitals for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The IIO BC was notified and are attending the scene to investigate police actions in this incident. The area has been cordoned off in order to support the investigation.

As the matter is now under investigation by the IIO BC, no further information will be released by police.
