Public advisory on multi-agency training exercise at Sea Island in Richmond

Police are advising the public of a multi-agency training exercise at Sea Island in Richmond, BC.

On October 14, 2025, uniformed personnel from the BC RCMP Tactical Support Group (TSG), Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), Vancouver Police Department Marine Unit and RCMP’s West Coast Marine Services will be taking part in essential training sessions to maintain their skills and readiness response to various scenarios on land and on water.

While most of the exercises will take place in a secure and contained facility within the CCG Base at Sea Island, the public should expect a large presence of officers in the area, as well as on the waters near Jericho Beach, English Bay and Kitsilano throughout the day. Impacts to the neighboring businesses, residents, motorists and boaters should be minimal.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation during this time as our agencies participate in this vital training.
