Richmond RCMP officers arrested a man for being in possession of an allegedly stolen e-bike.

On June 23, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Richmond RCMP responded to a report of a stolen e-bike that had been located in the area of the Richmond Courthouse.

The complainant reported their bike stolen out of Vancouver and was later able to track its location to Richmond using technology. The owner attended the area, where they located an individual in possession of the bike.

Frontline officers attended, met with the complainant.  Officers subsequently located and arrested the suspect inside the Richmond Courthouse for possession of stolen property.

The suspect has since been released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Corporal Frank Bryson, Media Relations Officer for the Richmond RCMP, stated:

“This investigation highlights the importance of timely reporting, as well as the valuable role technology can play in recovering stolen property. While we’re pleased the bike was returned to its owner, we want to remind the public to report thefts promptly and avoid putting themselves in potentially unsafe situations when attempting to recover property on their own.”

Richmond RCMP continues to encourage the public to report thefts promptly and to prioritize their safety by allowing police to handle recovery efforts whenever possible.
