Recent break and enters prompt crime prevention reminder

Ridge Meadows RCMP is reminding residents to be vigilant about property crime prevention during these warmer months following a series of recent break and enter incidents at a housing complex.

In the early morning hours on July 16th, 2025, Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a break and enter at a home in the 19500 block of Fraser Way, Pitt Meadows. The homeowner’s keys and vehicle were stolen from their property. No or other items were taken, and no property damage was reported.

In the early morning hours of July 17th, 2025, police responded to the same complex for a separate report of an attempted break and enter at a different residence. No items were stolen, but the residence did sustain property damage.

Police are continuing to investigate and are speaking to possible witnesses and reviewing video surveillance. While obviously suspicious and similar in nature, no clear connection has been made between the two incidents at this stage in the police investigation.

"We understand the concern local area residents may have regarding these two incidents," says Ridge Meadows RCMP S/Sgt. Luca. "We treat every incident seriously and appreciate residents’ assistance in not only helping us solve crime but helping deter it as well."

Thieves work year-round, but summer season provides ample opportunities for thieves given the abundance of recreational items and increase in insecure doors and windows and vacant homes.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions to ensure your home and property is appropriately secured to make this an enjoyable summer for you and your family.
