Incident Report: Suspicious figure lurking amongst the pumpkins
Location: Pumpkin Patch, Maple Ridge
Investigation: Ongoing

“Alright crew, let’s hit the patch – there’s a gourd gone rogue, and this possible pumpkin pilferer’s not slipping through our fingers like last night’s mashed potatoes!”

Somewhere between the corn maze and pumpkin wagon, something didn’t add up. With their roscoes and black maria in tow, the gumshoes searched the scene high and low. The only evidence collected, however, were tire tracks, candy wrappers, and one nervous scarecrow. Going deep undercover to get the latest intel on any corn maze shenanigans solved nothing either. Finally, a stop at the sheriff’s office proved immaterial, as the boys just couldn’t help playing the fool. Summary: Three detectives, one vintage ride, and a badge for every mystery. Halloween may be full of tricks – but these three are always on the case! Until next time, Happy Halloween!!

All fun and games aside, Ridge Meadows RCMP will have extra resources on hand this Halloween to make sure all the little ghouls and goblins are kept safe. Officers will be highly visible and increasing their patrols to deter any unsafe or suspicious activities. Being that it’s a Friday evening, we’re expecting a busy night.

Please do your due diligence and go over some of these safety reminders with your friends and family ahead of time.

  • Have a plan and stick to it. Walk in groups, stay together, and ensure that people know your route. And for goodness sakes don’t forget your phone!
  • Skip the pranks and other unsafe behaviour. If you don’t want to be on the front page or the lead story in your socials, don’t get involved. Please celebrate responsibly!
  • Fireworks are still prohibited.  Have complaints? Bylaws (Maple Ridge): 604-467-7305, Bylaws (Pitt Meadows): 604-465-2428, RCMP non-emergency: 604-463-6251. More info.
  • Costumes can make the difference. While we know inflatables are all the rage, make sure your demon hunter is still wearing bright and visible materials and that nothing poses a tripping or choking hazard.
  • Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. One of our number one concerns. There’s lots of busy, excited kids out there so slooooow down and use extreme caution on the roads. Drivers – Drive slow and creep forward (like a good monster!) with your head on a swivel. Pedestrians – make eye contact with drivers and only use marked crosswalks.

Happy Halloween and stay safe!!
