Ridge Meadows RCMP have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a number of catalytic convertor thefts that have occurred recently in downtown Maple Ridge.

On February 13, 2026, Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) arrested the alleged suspect outside a residence in the 22300 block of St. Anne Avenue in possession of a catalytic convertor. A search warrant was executed on the property, with the assistance of the Investigative Support Team (IST), which led to multiple items being seized including a second catalytic convertor and tools consistent with convertor theft.  The investigation is ongoing. No further details will be released at this time.

“Our officers acted quickly in response to this emerging crime trend to identify a possible suspect with the data and resources at their disposal,” says Ridge Meadows RCMP SEU Sergeant Trevor Hanson. “We would also like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.”

Residents are reminded to be vigilant and aware when it comes to thefts of this nature. Keep your vehicle parked in a secure area and possibly install anti-theft prevention devices to avoid becoming a victim. Watch for suspicious people or noises under vehicles, especially early in the morning, and remember to report this activity to police or call 9-11 if the activity is in progress. This information also helps us properly identify and track certain crime patterns and suspects.
