Ridge Meadows RCMP advises that the victim in the serious pedestrian motor vehicle incident that occurred on March 9, 2026, has unfortunately passed away.
The 91-year-old male pedestrian, who was riding a mobility scooter at the time, has succumbed to his injuries.
Officers are continuing their investigation and proceeding through all the necessary investigative steps.
This is the second fatal pedestrian traffic collision of the year in Maple Ridge.
Ridge Meadows RCMP is also still investigating the city’s most recent pedestrian collision that occurred on March 10th. No further updates are available at this time.
Ridge Meadows RCMP appreciates the public’s assistance in taking extra precaution on our roadways in light of these two incidents and recent inclement weather. Road safety is a shared responsibility held by everyone.
