Salmon Arm RCMP May 28 to June 10 2025, Calls for service: 360

May 29

4th Ave SW: At 9pm Salmon Arm RCMP observed a white Honda Accord travelling 93km/h in a 50km/h zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was exhibiting physical symptoms of alcohol impairment. A breath demand was conducted, and the driver blew a “fail.” The man’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and he was prohibited from driving for 90 days. He was also served a violation ticket for excessive speed in the amount of $368.

Lakeshore Dr NW: At 11:45pm Salmon Arm RCMP stopped a Dodge Charger with a Yukon licence plate after observing it completely in the oncoming lane. Police could see an open bottle of Captain Morgan rum in the front seat cup holder. The 21-year-old male driver had heavily slurred speech and advised police he only had his class 7L licence. The driver claimed to last have alcohol about 20 minutes earlier. A breath demand was conducted, and the driver blew a “fail.” The man’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and he was prohibited from driving for 90 days.

June 4

Salmon Arm: A woman had an emergency protection order in place against her ex-husband, and reported multiple breaches by her ex-husband to police. Police obtained charge approval for multiple counts of Breach of Court Order against the man, who was arrested and held for a bail hearing. A judge remanded the man in custody for one night after his first bail hearing. The man was released on conditions by a judge the next afternoon after a second bail hearing.

June 5

9th Ave NE: At 4pm Salmon Arm RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a black Ford Explorer after queries showed the registered owner was prohibited from driving. The vehicle appeared to be attempted to evade police after accelerating quickly and turning into a local restaurant, where it got stuck in between other vehicles in the parking lot. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner, and confirmed to be prohibited from driving. The man was served a future court date to speak to the allegations, and his vehicle was impounded.
