2nd Ave NE: Salmon Arm RCMP were advised that a woman who was prohibited from driving was observed driving on video surveillance on four different recent dates and would likely be attending a location on 2nd Ave NE on November 4. Police attended the location and observed more video footage of the 42-year-old woman parking her vehicle and exiting that day. The woman was arrested for driving while prohibited, and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The woman was released with a future court date to speak to the allegations.
November 5
5th Ave SE: At 11:45pm Salmon Arm RCMP were on patrol and observed a known 45-year-old woman driving a Volkswagen Tiguan. The officer was familiar with the driver who had a history of impaired driving in the past. A traffic stop was conducted to assess driver sobriety, and the woman presented with bloodshot eyes but denied consuming any alcohol that day. A breath demand was conducted and the woman failed to provide a sample of her breath which resulted in the same penalty as a fail. The officer was aware the woman could provide a sample of breath as he had obtained breath samples from her earlier in the year. The woman then advised the officer she had consumed alcohol that evening. The woman was prohibited from driving for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The matter was referred to RoadSafetyBC.
November 7
7th Ave SE: A woman reported her 2016 Dodge Ram truck was rummaged through overnight. It appeared only two packs of cigarettes were stolen. The woman was not sure if the doors were locked, but there was no damage to the truck. All keys were accounted for. Please see Salmon Arm RCMP recent media release to lock it or lose it.
November 11
Alexander St NE: A woman reported receiving an alarm at the business she manages. Police attended and observed the front glass door had been smashed. No one was located inside. The manager attended and confirmed the only thing that appeared to be stolen was a poppy donation box that was left on the front counter. Police obtained video surveillance from a neighbouring business that showed one man wearing dark clothing smash the door with a rock, enter the business very briefly then ran away. Police have not been able to identify the man. If you have any information about this incident please contact Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044 and reference file 2025-6748.
