Salmon Arm RCMP arrests suspect in alleged stabbing

On March 1, 2026, a man attended the Salmon Arm RCMP Detachment with two witnesses, reporting he had been stabbed during an altercation at a traffic light on the Trans‑Canada Highway near Highway 97B. The man was found to have a significant laceration and Emergency Health Services attended the detachment and transported him to the hospital.
Officers identified a suspect vehicle, located it and arrested the driver. On March 2, 2026, Calvin Pavey, a 52-year-old Salmon Arm man, was charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of aggravated assault. Pavey was held for a bail hearing and was released on conditions. Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.
Salmon Arm RCMP is continuing the investigation and request anyone who saw the incident or has dash‑camera footage from the area is asked to contact Salmon Arm RCMP.
