20th Ave NE: At 9:10pm Salmon Arm RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a Nissan Maxima for speeding. The 25-year-old female driver was unable to produce her driver’s licence. Once her identification was confirmed, police learned her driver’s licence was cancelled and she was to be served a 4-month driving prohibition. The officer also conducted a breath demand, and the driver blew a double fail. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and the driver was issued both 90 day and 4 month driving prohibitions, in addition to violation tickets for several offences. The matter was referred to RoadSafeyBC.

February 12

Lakeshore Dr: At 9am an employee at a local grocery store reported their delivery vehicle was stolen just moments before calling. The vehicle was left running unoccupied, with the keys inside when it was stolen. Store staff went looking for the vehicle and located it unoccupied behind Walmart. Salmon Arm RCMP obtained video footage and were able to identify a known 39-year-old female exiting the vehicle and going into Walmart. Police searched inside Walmart, but the woman was not located. The woman was located on February 13, arrested and released on conditions with a future court date.

February 21

Trans Canada Hwy: At 7pm staff at a local liquor store reported two females stole two bottles of Grey Goose vodka and pushed him on their way out of the store. Salmon Arm RCMP observed video surveillance and identified one 39-year-old female who was arrested the next day and released with a future court date. During that arrest, the woman provided the name of a 41-year-old female. Police located the 41-year-old female and arrested her for theft. The 41-year-old admitted to stealing the Grey Goose, but that someone subsequently stole the bottles from her. The matter was submitted to BC Prosecution for charge approval.

The woman was located at 4pm the same day as the report and was arrested for theft under $5000. The woman was held for a bail hearing.
