10th Ave SW: At 8pm a woman reported seeing one male inside her house through her security system. The woman was able to provide a very detailed description of the man, an item he stole, and the direction he headed after leaving the residence. One Salmon Arm RCMP member was already nearby and located a man in matching clothing walking on 10th Ave SW. The man was also carrying an item matching what was described as stolen. The man was arrested for theft, and break and enter. The man told police he would not agree to any release conditions and wished to go to jail. Police obtained charge approval against 46-year-old Tyler Carr for break and enter and commit theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and theft under $5000. Tyler Carr was remanded by a judge, with his next appearance date set for April 16.

Trans Canada Hwy: While crews were conducting highway and median cleaning, a flagger reported he was spit on the previous day. The victim reported a black BMW had by-passed all the waiting traffic by using the shoulder, then another vehicle refused to let the BMW back into the lineup. The victim approached the BMW and took a photo of the licence plate, then as he approached the passenger side window the 49-year-old male passenger spat on the flagger. There was a witness to corroborate the incident. The flagger obtained a photo of the male, who was recognized by police. Police attended the man’s residence and arrested him for assault; he was released later that day with a future court date.

Shuswap St: At 10pm Salmon Arm RCMP were conducting red light enforcement on Trans Canada Hwy and Shuswap St and observed a Toyota Tacoma fail to stop for a yellow light. A traffic stop was conducted and the 44-year-old male driver admitted to consuming alcohol one hour prior. A breath demand was conducted, and the driver blew a “WARN.” The driver was served a 3-day driving prohibition and a violation ticket for fail to stop for yellow light. The matter was referred to RoadSafetyBC.
