Multiple charges approved following complex investigation

Smithers RCMP received a report that a person had been threatened with a firearm and immediately began an investigation.
The investigation involved multiple interviews, evidence review, the execution of a search warrant and extensive documentation.
“Coming forward to report violence and threats can take a great deal of courage, and we recognize that,” said Cst. Jocelyn Foidart, Media Relations Officer for the Smithers RCMP.
Following the investigation, the BC Prosecution Service approved the following charges against Bryan Ernest Peter Halloran:
- Use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an indictable offence (S.85(2) Criminal Code);
- Assault with a weapon S267(a) Criminal Code;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (S.88(1) Criminal Code); and
- Uttering threats (S264.1(1) Criminal Code).
The alleged offences are now before the courts, and no further information will be released at this time.
