Sooke RCMP executed two search warrants in the Sooke area following a drug trafficking investigation.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Sooke RCMP were assisted by the Island District RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Island District General Investigation Section (GIS) and the Island District RCMP Forensic Identification Section (FIS) in order to execute two search warrants on Kemp Lake Rd and Walse Rd.

Approximately 3.5 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine were seized. Police also seized counterfeit US currency, Canadian cash, money counter and other items suggesting an illegal drug distribution operation.

Two individuals, a 53-year-old man from Sooke and a 33-year-old woman of no fixed address were arrested without incident. They were released on an Undertaking to appear in court on April 10, 2025. A detailed report to Crown Counsel will be forwarded for consideration of charges.

“This is a significant seizure for Sooke. With the rapid growth of our community we are taking steps to create dedicated specialized teams in Sooke to target drug operations”, said S/Sgt. Greg Willcocks, detachment commander of Sooke RCMP. “Sooke RCMP will continue to target these operations and ensure that the people involved in the distribution of dangerous and illegal drugs are brought to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
