Police seek to identify man displaying suspicious behaviour

Police in Sooke are investigating two separate reports of a man allegedly depicting sexual behaviour in public.
On March 23, 2026, Sooke RCMP were notified of a man at Otter Point Park who was allegedly following a woman while having a hand in his pants. The woman walked away and called police to report this incident. Efforts to locate the man at the time were unsuccessful.
On March 27, 2026, Sooke RCMP were notified that a man was allegedly masturbating in the woods at Gordons Beach near the 8600 block of West Coast Rd. The suspect was interrupted by a member of the public and left the area. In both circumstances, the description of the suspect was described as:
- Caucasian male;
- 5 ft 9 ins;
- Slim build;
- Brown hair;
- Beard;
- In his 20’s;
- Black jacket;
- Black pants;
- Large orange glasses.
The suspect was also associated to a small black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), possibly a 1999-2006 GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Blazer.
Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents that can lead to identify the suspect, to contact the Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
