Sea to Sky General Investigation Section (GIS) continues to investigate a collision following the recovery of the vehicle Saturday.
On October 18, 2025, the vehicle involved in a single-vehicle collision that entered the Squamish River in the early morning hours of June 14, 2025 was recovered. The recovery marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation.
At the time of the incident, four individuals were reported to be in the vehicle. While three of the occupants have been accounted for, one passenger remains unaccounted for.
Sea to Sky GIS has conduct of the investigation. Squamish Search and Rescue and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team were integral in the vehicle recovery; their diligent efforts of monitoring water levels and ultimately locating the still submersed vehicle, led to the successful recovery of the vehicle in challenging conditions.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains active.
No further information will be released at this time.
