Two men have been charged in connection with a robbery that occurred last Halloween.
On October 31, 2025, two men entered a sporting goods store in Sechelt, BC, and allegedly stole merchandise believed to be worth over $10,000 after using bear spray on one of the employees and one civilian. In the days and weeks following the incident the brazen and violent nature of the offence negatively impacted the feeling of safety for downtown businesses and residents alike.
The Sunshine Coast RCMP, with the assistance of local businesses & residents as well as the Vancouver Police Department, identified two suspects and secured evidence to support criminal charges.
On May 1, 2026, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges against Gibsons resident, Madhava Bosold, and Lower Mainland resident, Jason Thomas. Both men face one count of robbery and one count of disguising face with intent to commit an offence.
“We are grateful for the patience and support of the community throughout this investigation. This outcome reflects the dedication of our members and our on-going commitment to community safety,” says Cpl. Philippe Atoui of the Sunshine Coast RCMP.
