One Mountie who has made an extraordinary contribution to her community was presented with a King Charles Coronation Medal at a ceremony held at the Terrace RCMP detachment on May 27, 2025.

At the Terrace RCMP ceremony, medal recipient Rosanne Komlos, was clad in her red serge uniform along with the detachment commander, Inspector Terry Gillespie, presenting to her.

Insp Gillespie nominated Komlos, giving recognition to her impactful leadership, tireless commitment to supporting the communities she has served throughout the northwest, and social causes, and always going the distance and beyond.

Komlos proudly served as a constable for 25 years including serving the Gitsxan and Nisga’a Nations. "I wanted to come home and finish off the last seven years where it all began; my hometown of Terrace," Said Komlos.

The Coronation Medal was created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023.

During this second anniversary year, 30,000 medals will be awarded, 1,300 of which will recognize members of the RCMP.

"I wish to share this award with the members, support staff, dispatchers and partnerships within these communities I served, where it was the greatest privilege to work with all of them here in North District," said Komlos. "I’d like to give special accreditation to my biggest life mentors, my parents; Eva & the late Julius Komlos Sr."
