RCMP warns citizens of a scam circulating in the city

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Terrace RCMP were advised of a recent scam that is targeting the local Happy Gang Centre for Seniors.

It appears that their email was hacked and now members have been receiving emails and text messages from someone posing as the organization’s president, asking people to purchase gift cards and send them the cards information.

The Happy Gang Centre is aware of this and wants to stress that the texts and emails did not originate with them and that they would never send such requests out to the membership.

If you receive a text or email, please ignore it, delete it and do not comply with the request.
