The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 252 calls between August 16 and 23, 2025. During this time older model Ford pick-up trucks were noted to be the targets of theft and mischief. These events occurred in the area of town known as the horseshoe, as well as on the bench. Below is a summary of those calls.

Ford pick-up trucks targeted for theft

On August 16, a 2005 Ford F250 was parked on the 4800 block of Davis Avenue. The truck was reported stolen on August 17 with both sets of keys accounted for. The truck was later recovered on August 18, on Motz Road with the front plate missing and damage near the driver’s door and the ignition. (2025-6808/6837)

On August 19, an unlocked 2008 Ford F250 was reported to have been damaged around the ignition while parked on the 4800 block of Halliwell Avenue. (2025-6862)

On August 22, a 2003 Ford F250 was reported stolen from a driveway on the 4800 block of Straume Avenue. It was located by the owner in a parking lot a short distance away with damage to the ignition. (2025-6962)

Also on August 22, a 2006 Ford F250 was reported to have damage to the ignition but was not stolen. This occurred in the 4900 block of Labelle Avenue. (2025-6963)

August 23, a 2007 Ford Ranger pick-up truck was damaged on the 4900 block of Park Avenue. Damage was caused to the driver’s side handle and window which was off the track. (2025-6964)

August 23, a 2001 Ford F250 had been stolen from a trailer park on Old Lakelse Lake Drive.  This vehicle was later located by police in a parking lot on the 4500 block of Olson Avenue.  Some damage was observed.  This investigation is ongoing. (2025-7000)

Police want to take a moment to remind the public to ensure that vehicles are secure and that valuables are removed from inside. A quality home video security system can also be helpful to deter would-be thieves.
