The Terrace RCMP, Terrace Fire Department, and City of Terrace Building Inspector and Bylaw officers have worked cooperatively to clear residents from a property on the 3200 block of Munroe Street.

This property has been identified for quite some time as a nuisance to neighbouring properties for a variety of reasons including safety, noise, criminality, and unsightliness.

The City of Terrace Fire Chief has issued a formal Order for Immediate Action due to critical and escalating fire and life safety hazards which were identified during inspections at that location.

On May 29, 2025, significant deficiencies were documented and the occupants were provided a 30-day period to address those concerns. Since that time, the conditions only deteriorated.

On the afternoon of September 9, 2025, Terrace Fire and RCMP attended the property, at which time, all occupants were evacuated, utilities were disconnected, and fire hazards removed.

The property and buildings have now been secured to prevent unauthorized access.

The Terrace RCMP are asking the public to report to police in the days ahead if anyone is seen on the property by calling 250-638-7400.
