When “Ding-Dongs” forget to “Ditch”…

On July 25, 2025, 15 9:28 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about two teenagers playing “Ding-Dong-Ditch” in the 700 block of Schofield Highway, in Warfield, BC.
The homeowner who reported the matter noted that the two youth fled a short distance away after knocking on the door of his residence. When the officer arrived, he located the two youth responsible for the incident. The officer arranged for the youth to apologize to the homeowner.
The officer then contacted and reported the matter to their parents.

What came first? “Ding-Dong-Ditch” or the eggs?

On July 25, 2025, at 11:12 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a man chasing and throwing eggs at youth in the 1700 block of Columbia Gardens Road, in Fruitvale, BC.
An officer attended the area and located a group of youth. One of the youths reported that the man was angry because “someone” playing Ding-Dong-Ditch in the area, and he accused the group of such behaviour.
The unsupervised group of youth; however, denied the man’s allegation.
The officer recommended that the youth return home to avoid another incident and to call the police if another egg-plosion occurred.
“Too bad this group of youth didn’t see the person responsible while they were hanging out in the area.” says Sgt. Wicentowich.
House renovation leads to impaired investigation

On July 27, 2025, at 18:32 p.m., a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report that a 40-year-old Trail woman was suspected to be impaired while driving her vehicle in the 3300 block of Highway Drive, in Trail, BC.
The woman was seen driving her vehicle across her neighbour’s lawn as she left her residence before heading onto Highway Drive. When she returned home, she crashed into her own garage door as she brought her vehicle to a stop.
Officers attended the scene. They located the vehicle still crashed against the garage door. An officer spoke with the woman who was located outside of her residence. She allegedly admitted to being responsible for causing both reported incidents.
An officer observed that the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may have been impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the woman who provide a sample of his breath which resulted in a fail.
The 40-year-old Trail woman was issued a 90-Day Immediate Driving Prohibition under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. Her vehicle was impounded for up to 30 days.
