Arrest

A pair of suspects remain in custody after police were called to a break and enter at a Vernon business early Sunday morning.

On Sunday, January 11th, 2025, around 5:30 a.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a business in the 1200-block of Kalamalka Lake Road in Vernon. The owner of the business received a notification of an alarm and attended to check on the property.  When they arrived, they found an exterior door broken and two people inside the building.  The suspects exited and took off on foot and police were immediately called.

The responding frontline officers tracked the suspects into Polson Park and as soon as police approached them, the two men tried to flee.  After a brief foot chase, both were quickly arrested safely and without further incident.

The 48-year old man and 35-year old man, both from Vernon, have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
