The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is investigating after a patrolling officer found a vehicle on fire in Coldstream earlier this morning.
On Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, around 3:30 a.m., frontline officers were patrolling in the 11000-block of Kal Lake Road when they found an SUV on fire. The officers quickly used extinguishers from their vehicles to knock down the fire and prevent its’ growth until the Coldstream Fire Department arrived and fully put it out. Once the scene was rendered safe, a total of four vehicles were found vandalized, two of which sustained fire damage.
“The cause of the fire has not been determined; however, evidence at the scene indicates it was intentionally set,” states Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. "We're asking residents in the area who have cameras to check their video between 2 a.m. and 4a.m. this morning. If you find anything suspicious, please give us a call.”
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to please contact the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at (250) 545-7171 and quote police file number 2026-5022.
