On Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, around 11:45 am, police received a report of a robbery that had occurred in downtown Vernon. The incident started when the suspect alleged the victim had hit him with his vehicle. The suspect demanded money as compensation and when the victim refused, the suspect assaulted him and forced him into withdrawing the funds from an ATM.
“We haven’t been able to identify the suspect yet and are asking for the public’s help,” states Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “We’re circulating the photos hoping someone will recognize the person and contact us so we can advance our investigation.”
