West Kelowna RCMP seize multiple firearms during search warrant execution in Kelowna

In October 2025, the West Kelowna RCMP Drug Section initiated a drug‑trafficking investigation involving two individuals alleged to be distributing controlled substances within the West Kelowna area.

On January 20, 2026, members of the West Kelowna RCMP Drug Sectionsupported by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, the West Kelowna Crime Reduction Unit, and the West Kelowna Traffic Section, executed a search warrant at a residence on Minehill Drive in Kelowna. Three individuals were located inside the residence and were released at the scene. Officers also safely arrested two additional individuals connected to the residence in the area of Enterprise Way. Both were later released pending charge approval.

During the search, investigators seized:

  • 2 shotguns
  • 1 semi‑automatic rifle (AR platform)
  • 1 restricted semi‑automatic handgun
  • 1 revolver
  • 4 electric stun prods
  • Thousands of rounds of assorted ammunition
  • Approximately $1100 cash
  • 15 grams total in crack cocaine, cocaine, and fentanyl
  • 2 vehicles seized as offence‑related property
  • A large quantity of suspected designer purses/bags seized as offence‑related property
  • A military‑grade ballistic helmet

This is part of an ongoing investigation aimed at disrupting drug‑trafficking networks operating in West Kelowna and residing in Kelowna,” said Corporal Shaun Achtymichuk of the West Kelowna Drug Section.

Staff Sergeant Brendan Dolan, Detachment Commander of the West Kelowna RCMP added, The presence of illegal firearms and dangerous drugs in our communities poses a serious risk to public safety. Our officers remain committed to targeting those who choose to engage in criminal activity and bringing these investigations forward for charge consideration.”
