West Kelowna RCMP continues to investigate suspected intentional damage to a municipal water reservoir after City of West Kelowna staff responded to an alarm at the Tallus Ridge water reservoir on Thursday, March 19, 2026. (Read the original release here: West Kelowna RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public | Royal Canadian Mounted Police).

City Works staff attended the site and located damage to the reservoir that appeared to be deliberate. RCMP was notified, and a police investigation was initiated.

On March 20, 2026, investigators identified suspects in relation to the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.

Police continue to ask anyone who was around Big Sky Drive on Thursday, March 19, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and who may have observed suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity, to contact police.

As a precaution, the City of West Kelowna issued a do not consume water advisory for a portion of the Rose Valley water service area, including Tallus Ridge and Shannon Woods. All questions related to water quality, advisories, or the municipal water system should be directed to the City of West Kelowna. Information on affected areas is available on their website Water Quality and Reporting - City of West Kelowna
