On July 28, 2026, frontline officers responded to a report of a suspected break and enter at a residence in the 2100-block of Ensign Quay. During the course of that investigation, officers observed evidence that led to a separate drug investigation.

The West Kelowna RCMP Drug Section subsequently launched an investigation with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Unit and Traffic Services. Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence.

As a result of the search, officers seized a significant quantity of suspected illicit drugs, illicit cannabis products, and unstamped tobacco.

“This investigation highlights the vigilance and adaptability of our officers. What began as a response to a suspected break and enter quickly evolved into a significant investigation involving suspected illicit drugs and other suspected illegal products,” said Cst. Ash Puri, Media Relations Officer for the West Kelowna RCMP. “Through the coordinated efforts of our Drug Section, Crime Reduction Unit, Traffic Services, and frontline officers, investigators were able to secure judicial authorization and execute a search warrant. While the investigation remains in its early stages, it demonstrates our continued commitment to disrupting illegal activity and enhancing community safety.”

The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, no further details are being released. Additional information may be provided as the investigation progresses.
