On March 28, 2026, West Shore RCMP Bike Unit was on patrol in View Royal near the Galloping Goose trail when they came across a suspicious male and a stolen e-bike. 

Through the investigation, Bike Patrol officers determined the e-bike had been stolen that day. The e-bike was seized and returned to the rightful owner. The male suspect was arrested in relation to the stolen bike and released on an Undertaking.

From January 1 to March 31, 2026, West Shore RCMP has received 25 reports of bike theft.
