File 2026-6480

On April 9, 2026, at approximately 11:17 p.m. West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit and Frontline officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision near the 1400 block of Millstream Rd in the Highlands, B.C..

The collision involved a Grey 2018 BMW X5 that sustained significant damage after crashing into the rock face and flipping. Police determined the BMW was uninsured and the driver, identified as a 41-year-old male, was bound by a court order and prohibited from driving at the time.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital to receive care. The driver was arrested in relation to driving while prohibited and issued a violation ticket for no insurance and speed relative to conditions.  An impaired driving investigation is also underway as police suspect alcohol and drug impairment may have been a contributing factor in this collision.
